The Vicar of Braddan the Reverend Canon Philip Frear has announced his retirement from the Parish at the end of April 2012.
Canon Frear along with his wife Jaquy first came to the Island to serve in the diocese in November 1995 following on from parish ministry beginning in the Diocese of Bristol where he had served since 1980.
He was appointed as Chaplain to Noble's Hospital in September 1998 and his service was recognised when he was appointed to the seat of the Canon of Maughold in the Cathedral and Chapter in October 2004.
Canon Frear will continue in his role as Hospital Chaplain but is looking forward to his retirement from parish ministry and spending more time with his family.
Bishop Robert commenting on Canon Frear's retirement said, 'The Diocese is enormously grateful to Philip for his years of faithful service to Braddan, the Cathedral and to Noble's Hospital. I am pleased that he will continue to serve the Cathedral and as Anglican Chaplain to Noble's.'
