Pioneer Youth Minister/Missioner
The Diocese of Sodor and Man is looking for a Pioneer Youth Minister/Missioner - a post which is a key part of the significant new GROWING FAITH FOR GENERATIONS initiative of this Diocese.
You will serve as both Pioneer Youth Minister in a rural location and Pioneer Missioner working with churches of the diocese and in the multi-agency work among young people across the Isle of Man.
The headlines for this adventurous post are:
- grow a church community appropriate to young people in the rural Manx environment
- collaborate with partner Christian organisations involving paid and volunteer team members, as they pioneer new approaches in schools, the town centre of the island’s capital and in rural areas
- participate in development of resources and programmes to engage and nurture young people in exploring faith, engaging with God, developing their leadership skills, and contributing to their community
You will report to and consult with the Growing Faith for Generations Steering Board and be a member of the Diocesan leadership team.
This is a long-term project to realise the diocese’s priority goal of developing an energetic and evolving church among the coming generations. It is being done in partnership with schools, churches of many denominations, the Scripture Union Ministries Trust and private sponsors. Funding is currently secured for 3 years including a grant from the Church of England Strategic Development Fund.
Remuneration package : £26-32,000 depending on qualifications, experience and on whether the successful candidate takes up the option of housing provision.
If you feel that God is calling you to this role, working on the vibrant and beautiful Isle of Man with a superb quality of life, please download the information pack with application process and full details from the Vacancies page of our Diocesan website.
