The Cathedral held its joyful Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols in the presence of His Excellency, the Lieutenant Governor Sir John Lorimer and Lady Lorimer, The Rt Revd Tricia Hillas, Bishop of Sodor and Man, the Dean & Chapter.
With over 200 present in the congregation, the service started with the first verse from ‘Once in Royal David’s City’ as a solo from Chorister Lucy Morgan. The Bidding Prayer was by Revd Canon Dr Joe Heaton, followed by the first lesson by Judith Ley (Lay Canon).
The following lessons were by Amelia Swain (Junior Chorister), Sir John Lorimer, Janet Billingsley-Evans (Head, The Buchan School), Kate Lord-Brennan (MHK Glenfaba & Peel), Mrs C Clark (Headteacher QEII High School, Peel), Elliot Butler (Deputy Head of School, King William’s College), Christine Moughtin (Chair of Peel Commissioners) and finally by the Bishop.
The Director of Music was Dr Peter Litman and the Organist was Stuart Corrie.
