Rev Alexander Brown was ordained Priest this month in a joyful service at St George and All Saints in Douglas.
Rt Rev Peter Eagles, Bishop of Sodor and Man, (2nd from R below) led the service and preached. Alex now continues to serve his curacy as an Anglican priest in the parish alongside Venerable Andie Brown (R) who is Archdeacon of Man and Vicar of the parish, and Associate Vicar, Rev Alessandra Di Chiara (L).
The most recently ordained deacon, Rev Liz Hull (L, below),
acted as deacon for the Bishop at the service.
The congregation of All Saints and St George gave Alex a rucksack containing a lovely communion set - a treasure for priestly ministry.
Many of Alex's family were there, including his wife Amanda and their two children, Lula and Edie, and Alex's parents and siblings.
Alex continues his vocation as Pioneer Missioner in Douglas, working with Douglas Churches Town Centre Partnership along with the voluntary and business sectors to serve the communities connected to Douglas town centre, while also serving his curacy as an Anglican priest.
Among the initiatives Alex has developed over his first year in this ministry are:
Assent ~ a monthly Saturday evening worship gathering open to all (Facebook page here)
Churches Christmas Choir (Facebook info here)
