The Diocese of Sodor and Man
(Church of England)
We seek a Team Rector for the United Benefice of Onchan, Lonan and Laxey
Two parishes in one of the most beautiful places in the British Isles
Both of these parishes are in the East of the Diocese, and Onchan still describes itself as a village. It is contiguous with Douglas, the Capital Town. Lonan and Laxey are further north along the coastal road.
The parish has been served for the past 14 months by an Interim Minister following a difficult ending of the previous ministry.
We seek a priest with gifts in pastoral, administration, pastoral care and teaching.
A suitable appointment may also be asked in time to take on the role of Mission Partnership Team Leader (our equivalent of a Rural Dean) for the Eastern Mission Partnership.
The Bishop sees this as a senior and highly strategic appointment.
We offer a well-appointed 4-bedroomed Rectory standing on the edge of Onchan with views across fields to the lovely Groudle Glen, a local beauty spot.
Deadline for email applications (very much preferred, paper copies not required) is 5pm Monday 19th October.
Interviews BY ZOOM 28th October 2020
