New pastures for Fr Michael Brydon

It was announced this morning that Fr Michael Brydon, who serves as incumbent of St Matthew’s Douglas and as Chaplain to the Bishop of Sodor and Man,  will be taking up a new role as incumbent of St Lawrence, with St Nicholas, York in the autumn.  Fr Michael’s last day in post here will be 30th September.

Bishop Tricia says:
’Since joining the Bishop’s office during the complexities of Covid (having been appointed in 2020 and being licensed online in 2021) Fr Michael has consistently offered calm and faithful service supporting the ministry of the Bishop and the wider life of the Diocese with dedication and grace. The Diocese as well as the people of St Matthew’s and civic organisations such as the Sea Cadets will miss him terribly but wish him ‘Godspeed’ and every blessing as he moves into this next chapter of ministry.
On a personal level I am grateful for the friendship, wise counsel and pastoral collegial support which Fr Michael has extended to me, not least as I arrived here and in the unexpected events which came not long after.’

There will be opportunities to give thanks for Fr Michael’s ministry and to wish him well. Meanwhile we ask for your prayers as he and St Matthew’s prepare for this transition.
