We learned earlier today of the death of the Revd David Greenwood and wish to send condolences to all who will remember him with thanksgiving.
David served as Vicar in Ramsey from 1999 to 2012 and for a significant part of that time also served as a Chaplain to the Island’s prison. In addition to these roles, he spent periods as the Rural Dean for Ramsey and as an Honorary Canon of St German’s Cathedral.
He had links with South America, and his ministry took him to both Chile and Brazil. His love of travel meant that once he retired, he enjoyed longer trips abroad. His other loves included music, swimming, and entertaining. Notably, during his time as Vicar of St Pauls, he used his considerable cooking skills in generous ministry.
We now entrust David to the love of God, whom he served.
May he rest in peace and may he rise in glory. Amen.
