I am delighted to have accepted the Bishop of Sodor and Man’s invitation to serve as Rector of Ramsey and the North East. Having been educated on the Isle of Man and later at Durham and Cambridge Universities, this feels very much like a homecoming for me. My career has been rooted in education — I’ve worked as a teacher, headteacher, school leadership adviser, and school inspector in Church of England schools, and was privileged to lead the opening a new Church of England school in London.
I trained for ordained ministry at St Mellitus College in London and was ordained at St Paul’s Cathedral in 2015. Since then, I’ve served as Curate of St John the Evangelist, Great Stanmore, and as Assistant Priest at St James’s Church, Piccadilly in the heart of London’s West End. I have a particular passion for ministry with children and young people, helping them to grow in faith and confidence as part of the life of the Church.
I am really looking forward to returning to the island and getting to know everyone across the parishes and local communities. I was greatly encouraged by the warmth of welcome I received at interview and visiting the churches of the parish. It is a great joy and privilege to be called to serve as a full-time parish priest, and I am excited to share in and support the mission of God in the Diocese of Sodor and Man as I celebrate my 10th year as a Priest.
