Come aboard the Logos Hope and visit the world’s largest floating library. Or invite some of the Logos Hope team to visit your church!
Logos Hope is scheduled to be in Douglas from Tuesday 10th to Sunday 22nd November, and all contact with the crew is very welcome, with various options:
- Visit the ship while she is in Douglas
- Volunteers are needed to help on board in various ways while she is in Douglas (more details here)
- Invite some of the team to come to your church while she is here
Logos Hope is visiting the Isle of Man for the first time in 42 years, after local churches directly invited the ship here and it is very special for one of the crew members, Andy Sheath from the Isle of Man.
“It feels like bringing my home to my home, two worlds colliding” says Andy.
“It’s such a wonderful opportunity for people on the island to meet us and experience Logos Hope right on their doorstep.”
(Read about Andy and family on BBC news here.)
When you visit the ship you’ll find an amazing library with access to a selection of over 5,000 book titles at affordable prices, curated to suit a wide range of interests and age groups. Subjects include science and technology, sports and hobbies, arts and cookery, medicine and languages, faith and personal development. Children’s literature, academic resources, dictionaries and atlases are also available, making the book fair a destination for both leisure and learning, something the whole family can enjoy.
That’s just one of the interesting options on board. You’ll find:
- That amazing Library
- The Welcome Area with interactive displays about the vision and activities of Logos Hope
- Hope Café with all sorts of goodies
- A welcoming Crew, volunteers from around the world, ready to chat, answer questions, and share their experiences
Here is the schedule for Logos Hope’s visit to Isle of Man, open Tuesdays to Saturdays, and afternoon/evening on Sundays.

Everyone on the island is invited to go aboard while Logos Hope is in Douglas. The vessel is operated by the non-profit organisation GBA Ships, and sails to different regions of the world to share knowledge, help, and hope with local communities.
