The Archbishop of York’s visit continued with a visit to Tynwald (the Isle of Man Parliament) where he met with the President of Tynwald, The Hon Laurence Skelly MLC and was then given a tour of the legislative Chambers. This was followed by a short walk down the hill to St Thomas’ Church, Douglas. Here the Archbishop met with those attending the weekly Lenten lunch group. Amongst other home made delights Manx Broth was on the menu which the Archbishop thoroughly enjoyed, along with some lovely home-made sherry trifle.
The Archbishop’s day continues with a visit to St Thomas’s Church of England School in Douglas and then on to visit King William’s College in Castletown before further private engagements this evening.
