On Thursday 14th May – the Feast of the Ascension – 14 child choristers will ascend the Laxey Wheel at 5.30pm with Dr Peter Litman, Mr Aaron Fleet and the Very Revd John Mann, to sing a short service marking Ascension Day.
It is a custom of Cathedral choirs to ascend their towers and spires on this day to sing. Unfortunately it isn’t possible get to the top of St German’s Cathedral safely, so Dr Litman has liaised with Manx National Heritage who have given permission for the children to sing from the top of Lady Isabella.
The short service is at 5.30pm and all are invited to join around the base of the wheel.
