Harry Owens and Anna Burden (Christian Aid North West Deputy Head) were blessed by the energy and beautiful choir harmonies worshipping with the Anglican Cathedral in Burundi om Sunday the 24th of February. They were privileged to be invited to share about our trip with the congregation, and also brought the love and prayers from the churches in the Isle of Man, and gave the prayer cards IOM churches have written for them to share with the congregation and make a prayer chain.
We were invited back to lunch with the Erast, Bishop of Bujumbura after chatting with him.
We also met Claudine, an amazing lady who is the coordinator of the Mother’s Union, who are delivering projects funded by Isle of Man Mothers union and Government.
The photo of Harry with the staff, a meeting with the two Christian Aid partners who manage the beekeeping projects in the North and South, fascinating talking with the partners and discovering the current status of the honey hubs and challenges that beekeepers face. Very different contexts, predators and resources, but Harry’s knowledge, experience and humility will be much appreciated by the beekeepers waiting to meet him over the next two weeks.
