Later on in 2025 twelve choristers from Cathedral, Isle of Man will embark on a journey to visit the town of Ypres in Belgium. They will be following the route taken by 15 year old young soldier Private Robert Arthur Vick who left Peel to serve in the Great War and visit his place of burial.
The Cathedral choir have been invited to sing at the Remembrance Ceremony at the Menin Gate whilst in Ypres and to visit also at St Martin’s Cathedral and other places of cultural interest.
This is a visit that will be long remembered by those taking part and keeps afresh the memory of Private Vick in a very poignant and significant way.
