Forty days after Easter we mark Ascension Day on Thursday 13 May. We rejoice that the risen Lord, victorious over death and sin, ascends into his glory and completes the work of our redemption. We were unable to meet collectively during Holy Week, so, if you do not have your own parish celebrations planned, I warmly invite you to a Diocesan Eucharist at 6:30pm in the Cathedral.
During the Eucharist I will also take the opportunity to welcome formally to the Diocese both The Revd Dr Jonathan Knight, who comes to us as a diocesan priest ministering initially at the Cathedral, and my new chaplain, The Revd Dr Michael Brydon.
Clergy and readers are welcome to robe in choir dress.
