Saturday evening 7th February saw the official launch of the exhibition in St German’s Cathedral, Peel, of Luke Jerram’s astronomical artwork Mars, with an evening of music and canapés.
After a welcome from the Cathedral’s Exhibitions Co-ordinator Rosemary Clark, the exhibition was officially opened by Tynwald President, The Hon Laurence Skelly.  The new head of the Isle of Man’s Business Development Fund, Sarah Ennett, then spoke on behalf of Isle of Man’s Department for Enterprise, who have provided grant funding towards the exhibition.
The evening continued with entertaining music from Mine’s a Shanty, food provided by Jess of Filbey’s Little Food Shack assisted by her husband Nick, and drinks served by Nigel and Niki Sperring of Albany Guest House.
Here is the full programme of the variety of wonderful events to look forward to during February, as part of  the Mars exhibition.
