New Diocesan President of the Mothers' Union

We are thrilled to announce that Mrs Gail Eagles has been elected as Diocesan President of the Mothers’ Union, with effect from 1 January 2019.

Bishop Peter comments:  ‘I am delighted with the new appointment to be President of the Mothers’ Union for the Diocese of Sodor and Man!  I also extend warmest thanks to Mrs Pat Costain for her leadership and care in this role over the past three years.  The Mothers’ Union exemplifies Christian care and love and devotion within the deepest of human relationships, reminding us of the intimate love of mother for child which is at the heart of our faith.  I thank Pat as she steps down as President, and I ask you to join me in praying for Gail as she assumes this new responsibility.  Deo Gratias.’

Commenting on her appointment, Gail said:

I look forward to taking over as President of the Isle of Man Mothers’ Union for the triennium 2019 to 2021. For the past year I have been a patron, and at the M.U. Advent Carol Service on the 4th December in St Runius’ Church in Marown I became a member. What struck me most as I spoke to the members after the service was the joyous fellowship shared by all; I am keen to enrich this fellowship in the local branches, and to share it throughout the Isle of Man.
