Obituary – The Reverend Les Lawrinson

The Bishop is saddened to announce the death on 12 March 2022, aged 87, of The Revd Les Lawrinson.  Please pray for Sylvia, for their adult children Mike, Steve and Jan, for their four grandchildren, and for the repose of Les’ soul.

Born in 1935, and after a career in electronic engineering in the shipbuilding industry followed by government service, Les was ordained deacon in 1999 and priest in 2000.  He served as Ordained Local Minister in Onchan from 1999 until 2005, and then as Non-Stipendiary priest in Scarisbrick in the Diocese of Liverpool until retirement in 2008.  Returning to the Isle of Man, he held Permission to Officiate here from 2009, and ministered and worshipped at St George’s, Douglas and latterly at ‘Sunday at Ten’ at The Cat With No Tail.

Les and Sylvia were married for almost 57 years, and I ask us to pray particularly for Sylvia in her loss.

Les’ funeral will be at 1.00 pm on Thursday 24 March at St Peter’s, Onchan.
