Saturday 20th June is the day when we find hundreds of people walking around the parishes of this island ….
It’s the Parish Walk!
…. an event which first took place in 1852!
This wonderful event involves the Manx community island-wide, and athletes, runners, walkers – and people who just love to give it a try. It is sponsored by several island organisations, headed up by Manx Telecom
Among the participants this year are ‘The Stroll Mates’ – Rev Alex Brown, Rev Joe Heaton, Steve Curtis and Alan Crebbin – with support h driver Becky Creer. (Alex and Joe are featured in the featured image.)
As well as the organisations sponsoring the event, walkers use the opportunity to raise money for charity through their own sponsors. Alex, Joe and Steve are walking to raise money for Motiv8 Addiction Services.*

Anyone who would like to support their initiative can donate via The Stroll Mates JustGiving page.
* Motiv8 is the Manx organisation providing free, confidential, non judgemental support
to individuals and families impacted by dependencies to alcohol, drugs, gambling or gaming.
