Deepening your spiritual life – a day with Henry Morgan
To be held on Friday 10 July at 10am till 4pm at St John's Mill.
This is an experiential day in which we will draw on participants own experience and that of each other to deepen our spiritual lives.
Henry is an Anglican priest ordained in 1970 in the Diocese of Southwark, where he worked in various parishes for over twenty years. He was Chair of Southwark SPIDIR from 1988-93, before being called by God to a freelance ministry of spiritual direction, under the umbrella of The Annunciation Trust, which he founded. The Trust currently supports seven spiritual directors & has its own web-site: www.annunciationtrust.org.uk
His ministry has taught him that people know most of what they need to know about God, already. We mostly don’t need new information. But this wisdom often lies deep within us, unrecognised and largely unused, like a buried treasure that God has placed there. What we all need is the encouragement to recognise and value this gift that a gracious God has given us, and to allow it to transform our lives.
Henry has edited three books: ‘Approaches to Prayer’, ‘A Time to Reflect’, and ‘The God you already know”. He served as Secretary and then Chair of ‘Spiritual Directors in Europe’ and has travelled widely in Europe encouraging the ministry of spiritual direction: last year he was in Norway and Finland. Although now notionally retired Henry continues to work with clergy throughout the UK.
