With well over 200 members in 13 Branches across the Diocese, the Mothers’ Union recently held its well attended annual Festival and Eucharist Service in the Cathedral.
Diocesan patrons Lady Philippa Lorimer MBE and Mrs Gail Eagles were present, along with the WI President.
Mothers’ Union chaplain, the Revd Ruth Walker, was deacon to Bishop Peter – who presided over the Eucharist and also preached.
The Diocesan President, Revd Jeanette Hamer, had eight Long Service awards to give out – the longest being an impressive 70 years.
The music and adult choir was directed by Dr Peter Litman, and the evening concluded with a generous selection of refreshments.
