Net Zero Carbon Officer Announced

Louise Whitelegg brings a wealth of experience and a deep-rooted passion for environmental stewardship and faith-based action to her role as Net Zero Carbon (NZC) Project Officer for the diocese. With a strong background in volunteering and working within the third sector, Louise has dedicated her adult life to serving others and contributing to positive change.

Her commitment to her faith is evident in her role as a Local Preacher for the Methodist Church, where she integrates her beliefs into practical actions for the betterment of society. Louise’s professional qualifications in Health, Safety, and Compliance, as well as her additional qualifications in teaching and management, provide her with a solid foundation to navigate the challenges of achieving Net Zero Carbon commitments within the Church community.

Quoting Psalm 24:1, Louise emphasizes her belief that the Earth is the Lord’s and that as followers of Jesus, it is our responsibility to cherish and care for God’s creation. Her dedication to this cause is evident in her enthusiasm for collaborating with fellow believers to advance the aims outlined in the Root map and build upon the progress already made by churches within the Island and the Diocese.
