New Mothers' Union Chaplain Announced

The Reverend Ruth Walker, Assistant Curate at the Cathedral, Peel, is announced as the new Chaplain to the Diocesan Mothers’ Union.

Commenting on the appointment, Bishop Peter said:  ‘I am delighted that The Reverend Ruth Walker has accepted my invitation to be Chaplain to the Mothers’ Union in the Diocese of Sodor and Man, following her nomination by the Trustees.

Ruth will serve in this role for a period of three years, until October 2023.  She follows Fr Ben Bradshaw, Diocesan Chaplain and I take this opportunity to thank Ben most warmly for his ministry of care and support to the Mothers’ Union.

I ask us to hold the work and witness of the Mothers’ Union in loving prayer as it begins this new chapter in its life.’

Gail Eagles, President of the Mothers’ Union on Island, said, ‘I look forward to working alongside Ruth; the memebers so enjoyed her virtual Quiet Day Reflection in June, and I know that being a mother herself will bring that experience to her works as Chaplain.’
