New Priest in Charge at St Matthew’s, Douglas

The Bishop is pleased to announce the appointment of The Revd Dr Michael Brydon as Priest-in-Charge of St Matthew’s, Douglas.  As with previous appointments to St Matthew’s, this will be on a half-time basis, which in Fr Michael’s case will be combined with his current role as Bishop’s Chaplain.

Father Michael comments: ‘I am delighted to be taking on a formal priestly ministry at St Matthew’s.  Its faithful and committed congregation has made me very welcome.  Since my arrival in Sodor and Man, I have been grateful for the kindness and care I have received across the diocese. I particularly look forward to working more closely with my colleagues in the Eastern Mission Partnership.’

We are invited, as with all new appointments, to hold this in joyful prayer: please pray for the parish and people of St Matthew’s and for Fr Michael as he prepares to undertake this ministry.  A date for the Service of Licensing will be announced in due course.
