With sadness, but also with joyful trust in the promises of Christ, the Bishop announces the death on 9 November of The Reverend Christopher Brown, aged 91 years.
Following lengthy parish ministry in the dioceses of Southwark and Canterbury, Christopher’s ministry in Sodor and Man dates from 1984. He served as Chaplain to Bishop Noel Jones, officiating in parishes during times of interregnum, and latterly assisting particularly at Santan. Resident in Castletown, he moved into Springfield Grange Nursing Home following the death of his wife Ann, where the Bishop was able to visit him and take the sacrament to him shortly before his final illness.
Bishop Peter said, ‘We commend Chris, together with Ann, to the loving care of God, and we pray for the comfort of their adult children, grandchildren, and all who mourn.’
The funeral service will be at Santan Church at 2 pm on Wednesday, 23 November.
