Special Events in November with Ugandan Band

The AYF  Band, a Christian group from Uganda are celebrating 40 years of their ministry.  The group was started as a choir offering worship music appropriate for the younger generation who weren’t attending traditional Anglican worship in Uganda.  They have developed as a band and Christian fellowship, and continue to be dedicated to engagement with young people.  They now also share their music and prayer ministry with people of all ages.

They are coming to the Isle of Man for a week in November, and will be participating in various events.

Here are some of them:

  • Friday 15th November – An open afternoon of Praise and Prayer at the Thie dy Vea retreat house in Peel to pray for the Island, our churches, and the new Bishop of Sodor and Man.
  • Saturday 16th November – Enthronement of Bishop Tricia Hillas, the new Bishop of Sodor and Man.  AYF will be providing opening praise as the congregation gathers.
  • Sunday 17th November – participating in worship in 2 or 3 churches, including St Patrick Jurby at 10.30am.  (Others still being finalised.)
  • Monday 18th November – attending the Big Table lunch in the Corrin Hall, Peel- sharing their music in the afternoon with the residents of Castleview Nursing Home in Peel
  • Tuesday 19th November – evening concert in Peel Cathedral
