Safiya Nyirongo, Chief Executive Officer of the Anglican Communion Fund, writes to let us know that the Archbishops’ Together in Unity COVID Appeal, which has been raising funds to support the most vulnerable areas of the Anglican Communion amid the pandemic, has now raised over £200,000 (over 80% of its target). Safiya continues: ‘Combined with further pledges, the target is surely to be exceeded – a wonderful blessing, as we know the needs being faced across the Communion will continue for some time. It has been encouraging to see widespread participation, with contributions from across the Anglican Communion, including several Church of England dioceses, The Church in Wales, the Scottish Episcopal Church, The Episcopal Church (TEC), and the Church in New Zealand. We are grateful to all who have participated and to those who have supported our sisters and brothers across the Communion through other financial gifts and through prayer’.
