Fr Tom Davis, Parish Priest of St Matthew’s, North Quay, Douglas, has been appointed as Incumbent of St Margaret’s, Hollinwood with St Chad’s, Limeside, in the Diocese of Manchester.

A date for Fr Tom’s Institution and Induction has yet to be arranged, but is likely to be in early October.

Fr Tom comments:

'Hollinwood and Limeside is one of the most deprived parishes in the UK with over 12,000 people living there. I am attracted to the position because it has a flourishing church school, the parish founded Oldham Foodbank and there are several uniformed organisations. I will be sad to leave because I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Bishop Peter and his Diocese in 'making Christ visible’.

Bishop Peter adds:  ‘Fr Tom’s ministry at St Matthew’s has been characterised by faithfulness and compassion. He has also exercised priestly and pastoral care more widely across the diocese in his chaplaincy to Cadets, Care Homes, and the Hospice.  We will miss Fr Tom very much.  He will leave with our deep gratitude, our prayers, and our warmest good wishes. Please pray for the people of St Matthew’s as we begin the process of seeking a new priest for the parish.’
