Moving on to a New Appointment

The Revd Christopher Lowdon, Vicar of Maughold and South Ramsey, has been appointed Rector of Dollar in Clackmannanshire in Scotland, subject to clearance checks. Dollar is in the Diocese of St Andrew’s, Dunkeld and Dunblane, part of the Scottish Episcopal Church, which is the Anglican Church in Scotland.

Chris is leaving the Isle of Man after serving here for six years. He has overseen the Parish of Maughold and South Ramsey through a period of transition, and he has served as Team Leader for the Northern Mission Partnership.

Chris and his family will be leaving the Island with heavy hearts as they will miss their many Island friends. However, they are also all looking forward to the new challenges, not only in leaving the Diocese of Sodor and Man, but also in leaving the Church of England for the Scottish Episcopal Church.

Bishop Peter writes: ‘Fr Chris has exercised a great ministry at Maughold and South Ramsey, and we will very much miss his caring priestly presence in the diocese.  But I am delighted that he has been appointed to a significant parish in the Scottish Episcopal Church, and I am certain that his ministry there will be similarly marked by grace.  I ask us to hold in prayer Chris, Tracy, AJ and Bobby as they prepare to move on, and equally to pray for the parish and people of Maughold and South Ramsey as we begin our search for a new parish priest.’
